If you don't have an actual back scratcher, what is a good alternative? Humorous answers are welcome.

I find that this works quite well.

I use a windshield frost scraper, it has a metal blade so should never wear out.

The edge of the blade is worn quite smooth actually.

I kick the cat, thereby annoying it, then, by quickly turning my back in its direction, trick it into scratching my back.

I use the edge of the door trim sometimes.  I keep a telescoping back scratcher in the kitchen and a wooden one upstairs near my desk. Like many others, there is one spot on my back that itches and sometimes I scratch until it bleeds.  The dermatologist last week said my back is scarred.  It's a nerve thing...I knew that, but she also said that often there is a vertebrae problem in the area.  I know that that problem also exists but never knew the two had anything to do with each other.  Oh well...I'll keep scratching because I'm going to try to avoid back surgery in this lifetime.

I agree.  I got carried away.   I hope you have a safe space for retreat.

Oddly, my worst itch is from the scars I have from back surgery.

I can see that happening. I bet it's annoying ,along with the itching.

    Toothbrush (preferably someone else's).

Your s/o (it's in the agreement)

TV remote (providing you can it)

    Dresser drawer knob/handle .

Cell phone (providing you've downloaded the app)

Oil dipstick from your car (for the few who even know what that is, let alone where it's located).

    Fencing foil (touche).

Why are you canning the remote control? I’m calling the police.

Because I … um (ahem) … “misplaced” the word 'find'.  Therefore, I'm going to preserve the remote until I can locate the word 'find'.  After all, there's no reason to let a good remote go to waste simply because I lo... (a-ahem)… because the cat hid my glasses.

(That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!)

I have used the edge of a pair of scissors, but I really do love my metal back scratcher.

I have a wooden one, but the tips are too dull.

I have one of those telescoping metal ones but it is a bit too rough.

The wood one hardly scratches no matter how hard I push.  That's why I like the metal onre.
