A friend's dog ripped my nose open. I got too close. I can still see the scar. This post was edited by Element 99 at March 15, 2022 3:52 PM MDT

I got bitten by a wasp under my chin  when I was 7 years old while we were out picking blueberries. I'd been bitten by dogs also and cats but I always preferred getting bitten by a wasp. This post was edited by Kittigate at March 15, 2022 3:52 PM MDT

I just realized there is a difference between a bite and a sting.

The worst THING was my sister.  It was not the worst bite I even got (that was from a dog).

When we were little kids, my sister was a biter.  She learned that biting my brother usually stopped him from picking on her.  My brother used to call my sister Pig, and like any little brother would, I copied him. Well, one day I made fun of Pig and she bit me.

Was she born before you were born or after you were born?

Hmmm... she has always claimed to be my older sister, and I don't recall seeing her as a baby... so I'm going to say she was probably born ... before me?

    A goat.
It was trying to eat a keychain that was on my belt, and I swatted the goat's nose.
In retaliation, it bit my hand.

I've never been bitten by anything more than a mosquito.

The worst thing that bit me was a fire ant, which actually bites and stings at the same time. I was wearing sandals and it bit me on the toe. The bite wasn't too painful, but I swelled up like a balloon and went into anaphylactic shock.

Like Jane, fire ants.  I was a little kid and looked down and I was standing on an ant mound with red ants all over my legs and feet.  I couldn't move.  Somehow I got into the house and my paw paw took care of it.  I don't remember what he did but my sharpest memory of the whole thing is standing there unable to move.

A Shetland sheepdog. Dogs usually like me, I can annoy owners of guard dogs by making friends with them - but this one was schizoid. Let me play with him, threw his ball for him to fetch a few times - then as soon as I turned my back, it went for my calf. I still have the scar.

Tick. The anxiety about potentially contracting Lyme, etc. is worse than the pain of fire ants, snakes, guinea pigs, birds, cats, kids, etc.
