Do you have Tree Frogs in your area.

I just saw the first tree frog of the season and it was really really cute. I like tree frogs because they are really good at controlling pest insects plus they serenade me to sleep at night with their croaking. It always amasses me how such a small creature can make such a big sound. Cheers!

We are have a real bad problem with a invasive species of bull frogs on the island. They are killing off all the other species of frogs and toads so I don't like them at all. In 20 years they have gone from 16 bull frogs to 10s of thousands and they have traveled from the north end of the island to the center of the island. Few more years they will take over the island. I have heard stories of them eating cats but that doesn't seem possible. Cheers!

WOW! Invasive species can really devastate the ecosystem!

I'll bet you could get some southern country folks to come there and hunt those bullfrogs! Seriously, though. I've never eaten them, but a lot of people like to eat frog's legs. Very popular in Cajun and southern cuisine!

    Cheers!

I don't think I've ever seen one but I  googled and some species do live around here, mostly in marshy areas. Now I  will be on the lookout for them.

We do, but only in marshy areas and they are rarely seen, since they are nocturnal. I'm sure I have heard them on camping trips. Amphibians in general are on a sharp decline in this area due to environmental changes.

You are the second person to say that they are only in marshy areas. It is the opposite here I usally only see them in dry areas. It is a shame amphibians are in a sharp decline. Cheers!

It's amazing when you start looking for the more elusive ones what you can find. I had no idea of the variety of salamanders and even frogs we have. It's fun taking photos of them!
