That is not the Toledo I remember (I haven't seen it in 40 years). That is a pretty sky. Cheers and happy weekend!

    I don't pick on Toledo.

    Wait . . . I shouldn't have answered.

That's an awfully big fishing boat.  Doesn't it scare the fish?

It frightens the fish toward the dock where we fish.

I prefer cities with a sleepy town feel to them. A Cincinnati-born acquaintance once referred to it in passing as "boring old Toledo", but Adelaide has a similar reputation: "the only cemetery in Australia that's lit up at night". I chose to live here despite growing up near Sydney. The trouble with the rat race is that even if you win, you're still a rat. This post was edited by Slartibartfast at May 30, 2022 7:32 AM MDT

    Ha, well said!

Edit: I mean, easy for Lily Tomlin to say. Much better coming from an umpire. This post was edited by Danilo_G at May 29, 2022 12:30 PM MDT

Jackie Gleason, and he may not have coined it either but he said it while Tomlin was still in elementary school.

(I met Lily Tomlin. And we hugged. I posted a Statement or Question about it somewhere on the site at some time.)

    :)

The river is usually not that calm.

That would be my guess.  Is this a busy dock right in town?

We have the second largest shipping port on the Great Lakes. That is a cargo vessel steaming toward some grain elevators.

Cool, but it’s still Toledo. I have never picked on Toledo, but you asked for it!

Hey, it's probably not the worst Toledo in the world.
