Depends on the time of year.  In the summer, the "cold" from my kitchen tap is hotter than the hot (sometimes up to 2x).  In fact, from late June to early September the only place in this entire house to get "cool" water is in the back bathroom (and even then it's barely tepid).

In the summer time, yes.  In the winter the cold is way too cold to rinse clothing in the washer.  I have to mix a little hot to balance it out.

It is at this time of year. You have to climb into the fridge to get warm. This post was edited by Slartibartfast at June 1, 2022 10:34 PM MDT

Maybe you can get a walk-in fridge.

We don't have cold water after March and then it gets cold again  in November.  I never turn on the hot tap.  My shower is a warm shower using all cold water.  I do all laundry in cold.  My dishwasher heats its own water.  If I hand-wash dishes I heat a little water in the kettle because the tap wastes two gallons of water getting the hot water to the kitchen sink.  Some years I just turn off the breaker for the water heater until October/November.  I haven't done that yet this year.

  • My cold tap water is 15˚C. My hot tap water is 50˚C.

By definition, yes, the hot water is hotter than the cold water, and the cold water is colder than the hot water. How much money do I win?
