Is Don Jr. right about a baseball bat being just as dangerous as an assult rifle?

Shortly after the last school shooting Don Jr. did a speech bad mouthing gun regulations. Then he went on a rant about how a person with a baseball bat could kill just as many people as a person with an assault riffle in the same amount of time.  I suppose that could be true if there was a long line of people nailed to the floor and the person with the bat could go along the line and take the people out one at a time. But besides that Jr. doesn't know what he is talking about and it was just his sick way of justifying  assault weapons. Cheers!

    Look at countries who banned guns...their murder rate did not go down.  People just use different methods.  Arson, knives, vehicles etc.   And their assaults increased....can you say sitting duck.

    Our murder rate went down SHARPLY. Assaults were trending up before that.

    Nope. It remained fairly steady. Gun ban was in 1996...murders were 356 that yr. As you can see from the data they remained steady if not an increase for the next 8 yrs.

    So your murders stayed steady to increasing and you assaults increased for 8 yrs following the gun ban.

    He may be an idiot, as Element asserts, but the fact remains that gun laws would do nothing to prevent mass shootings. In this case, you're just shooting the messenger because you don't like him.

    Right now his hunting guide is being charged with bear baiting. Bear baiting is were you put out a bunch of food for the bear then while the bear is eating it the hunter jumps out from behind a rock and shoots the bear - that is not hunting. Cheers!     Depends on who is using the bat.  And who it using the gun. 

    There are years were murders by blunt object exceed murders by all rifles.
