Do you miss hanging your clothing on a clothes line?

The sun and air produced a freshness a dryer is not capable of.  I miss it a lot.

I got lucky because some people put out some nice thick washed yellow sheets in a box by the side walking now I have garden-fresh smelling pair of clean sheets to rest my sick body on. This post was edited by CosmicWunderkind at June 1, 2022 1:24 PM MDT

No. Mom used to do it and the clothes dried stiff. I remember those blue-jeans. Aargh.

No.  I hate clothes that are boards.    Drying oneself with a line-dried shower towel is like using sandpaper.

I haven't seen anyone  drying their clothes outside around here in over 30 years.  And if anyone did I'm sure someone would gripe about it.

I think hippies still do it. When they do their semi-annual laundry.

Semiannual is all one word, I was not aware of that.

or people are being more discrete about doing it.  After all, drying by electricity costs money, whereas solar drying is free.

Im sorry, but some of us aren't rich.  Capital letters are so expensive that they're becoming a luxury.  If prices keep rising, I'm going to have to cut back on punctuation as well.

As electric bills continue to rise, many may choose that option at some point.

or dry them outside and do a quick dryer fluff so they aren't as stiff.  The worst part is that the sun deteriorates cloth.  A towel dried in the sun will wear out in less time than a towel dried in a electric dryer.
