I thought AutoInCorrect was supposed to be adaptive, but every time I type the names Livvie or Welby here, they get redlined. What gives?

Isn’t AutoCorrect supposed to learn over a period of time that certain words you use often are spelled a particular way and that they don’t need to be corrected? For over five years now, I have to fight with it whenever I type the names of these two friends of mine. It worked perfectly with Shuhak and Slart; after a while, it just accepts it when I type them.

Grrrrrrr.

No.  Just hover over the word and you can add your spelling to the dictionary.

Thank you for the tip. I just gave it a try a few times and in a few different ways, and no such dictionary option appeared. Is your hovering suggestion geared more for when using a mouse? I’m on an iPhone, so maybe that has something to do with the functionality or lack thereof. Grrrrrrr.

Yes, I use a mouse.  ALWAYS.  No dragging my finger across a screen.  :)

Lol, alas, that’s why it didn’t work for me.

    :)

OK. I just did it with the word gruntled. What I told you didn't work. I haven't done it in a long time but I'm pretty sure what I told you is my past experience. However, today I had to select the word, right click, and there I found the "add to dictionary" option. Try that. This post was edited by Thriftymaid at September 25, 2022 7:31 PM MDT

Thank you again, but no such option shows up. I’m sure that iPhone must have a way for me to do it, I just don’t know what that way is yet.

I don't use a phone.  I use a desktop or laptop for internet.  With wired connections.

My autocorrect remembers way too much.  It gives me Livviestan as one of the choices when I type my name.

That was my own little fictional country I mentioned a few times on here.  It still comes up as an auto-fill choice, lol.

I'm not surprised I've been redlined.
