Edith Bunker! That is great! She broke down once and held her ground crying a bit and stormed off. She knew things weren't right but how she got married to Archie I will never know Welby!

Having been enamored with "All in the Family" for most of my life, I like how Edith can bring out Archie's caring qualities. Yes, he has admirable qualities to me in spite of some of his outright awfulness (my opinion). And, yes - I' m with you on Edith.
Edith is truly one of the most loving, encompassing, open, caring fictional characters I enjoy. To me, she is truly beyond reproach. She has enlightened me in my own life in some ways -- I first started watching the show as a ten-year old-or so - - with my whole family often. And our parents, while we all laughed at the show, often elaborated on the edgy qualities of the show and broadened my young life.
And I believe (again to Edith's credit) that Edith is so loving that she loves Archie and finds his inner, deep wonderful qualities. I believe Archie then sees that Edith is like possibly no one else in his life - - she sees him in his entirety. And he loves her for her taking time to really know him on their life-long adventure together -- she takes the time to get to know him. And she takes time to know other people, too. Archie notices how special she is. And he loves her for loving him.

I miss Gibbs being on NCIS. All the really good, interesting characters (Mike Franks, Ziva, Abby) are now gone and, while the cast is OK and Gary Cole is better than I thought he would be, it's just kind of blah now.
I agree. Maybe he will do a cameo every now and again. Otherwise the show may be doomed. I can't even remember the crew's names except for Nick and Tim.
