wait waited waiter waiting waits waitress

What are some of your favorite songs that include any of those words in their titles, and the artist(s) whose version(s) you like the most, thanks.

  Some of mine are:

“Waiting For A Girl Like You” by Foreigner.
“Waiting For A Star To Fall” by Boy Meets Girl.
“Love Won’t Let Me Wait” by Luther Vandross.

He's great, isn't he? I love his vibe. I'd pack up the dogs and move to Hawaii in a heartbeat! :) :)

    Waiting For The Miracle
    by Leonard Cohen
    (co-written by Sharon Robinson)

    Baby, I've been waiting,
I've been waiting night and day.
    I didn't see the time,
I waited half my life away.
    There were lots of invitations
and I know you sent me some,
    but I was waiting
for the miracle, for the miracle to come.
I know you really loved me.
but, you see, my hands were tied.
I know it must have hurt you,
it must have hurt your pride
to have to stand beneath my window
with your bugle and your drum,
and me I'm up there waiting
for the miracle, for the miracle to come.
    Ah I don't believe you'd like it,
    You wouldn't like it here.
    There ain't no entertainment
    and the judgements are severe.
    The Maestro says it's Mozart
but it sounds like bubble gum
    when you're waiting
for the miracle, for the miracle to come.
    Waiting for the miracle
    There's nothing left to do.
    I haven't been this happy
since the end of World War II.
    Nothing left to do
when you know that you've been taken.
    Nothing left to do
when you're begging for a crumb
    Nothing left to do
when you've got to go on waiting
waiting for the miracle to come.
    I dreamed about you, baby.
It was just the other night.
    Most of you was naked
Ah but some of you was light.
The sands of time were falling
from your fingers and your thumb,
    and you were waiting
for the miracle, for the miracle to come
    Ah baby, let's get married,
    we've been alone too long.
    Let's be alone together.
Let's see if we're that strong.
    Yeah let's do something crazy,
    something absolutely wrong
    while we're waiting
for the miracle, for the miracle to come.
    Nothing left to do ...
When you've fallen on the highway
and you're lying in the rain,
and they ask you how you're doing
of course you'll say you can't complain --
    If you're squeezed for information,
that's when you've got to play it dumb:
You just say you're out there waiting
for the miracle, for the miracle to come.

Er, um, where is the word “wait” or any of its variations in the title “Don’t You Want Me”?

"You were working as a WAITRESS in a cocktail lounge,..."

Just reread your question. I did not see "in the title."

Well, at least you accepted it and admitted it. Thank you.

There is ample evidence to the contrary found on numerous threads: it’s more often the case that you argue incessantly and introduce subterfuge WHEN you are wrong.

The key word in your claim is the use of the word “if” and the fact that you so strongly emphasized it. That merely means that on those occasions wherein you adamantly choose not to accept* that you are incorrect on a particular point, even when it’s clearly laid out before you, you go on and on in protest. That is not the definition of accepting that you have been wrong.

Any further rebuttal from you after this post will just reinforce everything. I’ve just said here.

*Ironically, I used the word ”accept” in my post above, not knowing that it would so purposefully and glaringly be needed here later. You proved it to be a very necessary inclusion.  LoL.

As I said IF I am wrong.   And yes, I will always defend my position if I believe I am correct.

I am certainly not the only one here who follows those actions.  Especially in the politics section which is normally where my posts fall. Cannot argue a point if the other users do not also post in defense of their position.

Wait Till the Sun Shines, Nellie
Song by Bing Crosby and Mary Martin

Wait till the sun shines, Nellie
When the clouds go drifting by
We will be so happy, Nellie
Don't let me hear you sighing
I can't stand to see you crying
    Down Lover's Lane we'll wander
    Sweetheart, you and I
If you will wait (Wait at the garden gate)
Till the sun shines, Nellie (Ha now, honey, ha don't be late)
    By (In the sweet)
    By and by
    Oh, say
    Things are gonna be okay
    In the sweet
    A-sweet, a-sweet, goodbye and by
Wait till the sun shines, Nellie
When the clouds go drifting by
We will be so happy, Nellie
Don't let me hear you make a sigh
(Don't let me hear you make a sigh)
Way down in Lover's Lane we'll wander
    Sweetheart, you and I
    We'll be so happy together
But it all de-a-pends on the weatherman
    Nellie
    Oh, Nellie (Wowz, Nell)
Don't you sit there and sigh
    If you will wait
    Till the sun shines, Nellie
    I-hi-n the sweet
    I-hi-n the sweet
    I-hi-n the sweet
    Just be discreet
And wait till the sweet by and by
