Lap.  I've seen people put a plate on their lap to eat a meal requiring a knife.

    Hot room or outdoor spot.

I don't like to feel cold air blowing on me or my food during a meal.

    Chaos..........think Golden Corral.

    Dirty surroundings.

Dark.  I will not put a bite of food into my mouth if I cannot see it.

Sunny.  I do not like to eat in direct sunlight.

Eight very good entries. You are hereby deemed worthy to prepare for and serve sandwiches to Randy D Randall. Please stop by within the hour to be fitted for your personalized apron.

Oh goodness.  I didn't even think about restaurants.  I could fill a page easily.

“I didn't even think about restaurants.”

      You included Golden Corral.

I didn't think about all of the dirtiness of restaurants as well as people I might not want to be around.  Golden Corral was an example of chaos.  Family reunions, church pot lucks, and company picnics are other chaotic and dirty circumstances where other humans consume food.

Acting Governor Randolph D Randall has just ordered an irrevocable stay of her execution and commuted her sentence from the death penalty to immediate transfer of custody to a nearby (to him) sub-basement for confinement at sandwich-making labor. (Cough, cough.)

Does having to "eat" it through an IV tube at the hospital count?

It’s fine with me, but since it’s your/response entry; you can decide whether or not it counts.

Trust me, it counts!  Of course, the IV "tastes" better than that so-called "real" food they bring you ..... and they always seem to bring it either when you're either asleep or when one of the many roaming "vampires" is sucking out every drop of your blood (they say, "little pinch", then sink their fangs and suck).

What is known in Jewish tradition as the shiva meal upon returning from the cemetery after burying a loved one.

A Mac attack. The only thing at Mickey D's that approaches being edible is the packaging.
