Should McCarthy be giving the Jan.6th surveillance footage to other media outlets?

McCarthy resonantly gave Tucker Carlson exclusive access to a vast archive of unseen surveillance footage of the deadly Capitol riot. I really don't think McCarthy had the right to do that and it will come back to bite him. Cheers!

    Does this help?

Should McCarthy have given the Jan.6th surveillance footage to other media outlets?

    Thanks for the Canadian-to-English translation.

I don't think she was giving you a Canadian-to-English translation. I think she was pointing out that if the text was bigger maybe you could clearly see that the question did make sense.

It had nothing to do with the size. It was a translation, but of course you didn’t know that, or you might have written it in English in the first place.

The question does make sense. And I think you are the only one here that thinks it doesn't make sense.

I didn’t know that we’re all required to think alike.

I have concerns about what is revealed in the tapes which might reveal the safety and security measures for Congress and their staff. That said, McCarthy should not show preferential treatment to any one media outlet. If anyone doubted that he cares more about his ambitions than about the country,  this should make it crystal clear. That he chose Tucker Carlson to cozy up to turns my stomach.

I never considered security measures but I guess they could show were the cameras are and other stuff. Tucker Carlson is know for being a Jan. 6th Capital attack denier so I imagine he will cherry pick the footage and make it look like a wholesome family picnic. Cheers!

I think it all should have been released to the public. And anyone who is still awaiting trial for Jan 6 should also have full access.

As Speaker of the House now, he is in charge of the security of the House of Reps. therefore he has every right to release the footage. And ot was a condition he agreed to gain enough votes to secure the Speakership.

No other media was concerned about getting access to the 46,000 hrs of footage until McCarthy gave the access to Tucker....so why do they want it now?

We all know the members have tunnels under their seats....CSPAN reported that as it happened. Only once though, I figure they got in big trouble for that coverage.
We should get to see the MAGENTIC locks on the Capitol doors just release and allow the people inside. Maybe it shows WHO hit the button to release them. (Had to be opened from the inside) We should see the footage of the Capitol police standing in front of the House Chamber doors then just moving out of the way seconds before the unarmed woman was shot. See WHY they moved....
We should see the video of protestors being basically escorted through the building by Capitol police. We should see WHY the Capitol police threw flash grenades into a peaceful crowd. There is a lot of things we should see that was not shown to us or even addressed by the Jan 6th committee.
