Will Robert F. Kennedy Jr. be the next presedent of America?

Last week Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced his bid for the 2024 election. And I am starting to think he will be the next president of America. I bet Kennedy running worries Trump and soon he will resort to his usual tactics - bad mouthing the family of people that stand in his way. But if Trump starts bad mouthing the father of Kennedy Jr. he will turn a lot of people off by showing them what kind of jerk he is. Cheers!

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. doesn't seem to have much of a media presence - at least not here in NYC, so I don't think he presents much of a problem for Trump.  As for Kennedy running against Biden, I'm not sure how he would fare.  I suppose the Kennedy name will help, but I'm not really knowledgeable about where he stands on various issues other than that he's vehemently anti-vax.

So far his platform is that the lockdown killed the middle class and made the rich richer. So I guess that's what made me start thinking he might be a good pick - like he was for the middle class and not the rich. Cheers! This post was edited by Nanoose at April 24, 2023 5:52 AM MDT

In case you haven’t noticed, candidates will say anything to get p to vote for them.

The middle class has been disappearing for decades now and Trump's tax reform sent it even deeper into oblivion.  They all claim to be for the middle class, but any time the fortunes of the top tier are threatened, something happens that solidifies their financial standing.

It was not tax cuts for everyone thar hurt the middle class....it was the Governors, Mayors etc who shut down their states/towns and schools. This post was edited by my2cents at April 24, 2023 7:45 AM MDT

Keep telling yourself that if it makes you feel better.  The richest people in the country and corporations didn't need tax breaks. This post was edited by Spunky at April 25, 2023 6:40 AM MDT

Tax breaks cause businesses to have more money to invest in the business ie. Labor, equipment etc. That cause economy to increase.

I certainly needed my tax cut.

Except they didn't, the 1% invested all of it in massive share buybacks and short-selling.

So bottom level employees did not get raises and bonuses.....but they did. It was the first time in years wages on the bottom were going up without gov imposing a minimum wage hike. But then Biden was installed and caused inflation so the higher wages mean nothing now. If they were even able to keep the job.

Since 1963, when I had my first full-time job, I claimed zero for withholding.  Throughout the years, I rarely owed money, but when I did, it was a small amount.  If you added up all the money I had to pay from 1963 to 2022 when I retired, it wouldn't add up to the amount I owed the feds after Trump cut taxes.

We have discussed this before, you said you took money out of something and did not have the taxes held out....that is why you had to pay in that year.

Also the amount of your refund vs paying in at Apr 15, is NOT your tax bill. It is simply the balance of the amount deducted from your paycheck and your actual tax due. If you are owning taxes after withholding then you need to have your withholding amounts adjusted.

I have ALWAYS had taxes taken out of any required minimum distributions.

According to you, there was something you took a payment of....maybe your retirement or I do not remember what it was....but I do remember you saying taxes were not withheld from it so it made you have to pay in.

Required minimum distributions come out of my retirement accounts and I have taxes automatically taken out so you may have me confused with someone else.

You told me that you took some sort of payme t/distribution but there was not taxes withheld from it. This is not illegal...but it did make you jave to pay in on Apr 15th that year. I
It is posted on the site somewhere. I do not have you confused with someone else.

It's like that in Canada too except unfortunately we don't have a Bernie Sanders to explain how the 1% of the 1% have all the wealth in the country. Cheers!

Let's hope not. Even members of the Kennedy family don't support him. He is a conspiracy theorist/anti-vaxxer, who might actually be more of a challenge to Trump than he is to other Democrats.

Knew nothing about him until I read your question.  Looked him up, when I saw his family is not only not supporting him they are against his ideals.  If his family fight him behind the scenes, he doesn't have a chance.

Yeah when I first posted this question the only thing I knew about him was who his father was so I thought he would be good pick. But from what I have since learned about him makes me figure he would not be a good pick. I'm actually hoping Michelle  Obama will through her hat into the ring. Cheers!

She's been on a lot of talk shows this year. I've heard her say that there's "no chance" that she'll run for president. I guess that in political speak, that means "maybe".
