How small is the smallest town you've ever lived in?

I once lived in a town of less than 150 people.

Wait...I didn't actualll answer your question. I lived there in 1972-3, but I don't know how small it was. Smaller than any other I had lived in.

I've always been a city boy, but my better half comes from a village in the Riverina called Marrar. Current population 368, when she lived there it was about half of that. A general store (which was also the bank, the service station and post office - no roadside delivery there) and a pub. 21 miles from Wagga Wagga, which is a decent sized town.

But I heard that it’s now called Wagga as it’s not half the place it used to be, lol.

Wagga Wagga is sometimes called Wagga for short, as Gumly Gumly is often called Gumly. However Woy Woy and Grong Grong can NEVER be referred to as Woy or Grong, those are the rules.

I've never lived in a small town.  I'm New York City born and bred and have lived here my entire life.

Ansley:  There are probably close to 150 people in my apartment building alone.

Did you ever think about moving elsewhere or did it always feel like where you were meant to be?

I'm not surprised. I looked it up and that town is now down to under 50 residents. I have no recollection of living there, as I was under 2 when we moved about 15 miles from there to the outskirts of a much larger town of about 600. ;)

I didn't think about moving to a smaller, more urban area until about five years ago when I thought about retiring.  I finally retired in January of this year and I'm looking to make a move to PA where my youngest sister and her family live.

I'm sure you'll enjoy being closer to family. Happy house hunting!

Thanks.  I actually have two other sisters and their families in New York, but I need to go someplace where the noise level is not deafening.

I’ve never actually lived in the small town.  I live about right miles from the closest town (about 1300 people).

The population of my farmhouse is six humans, eight cows, three horses, four dogs, four cats, a mule, a donkey and a couple of pet rabbits.
