I find war an insult to human intelligence. And the blame game is no excuse to me. We humans should be able to get along.

Yeah its sort of like gangs in an area. They will sometimes fight each other but if an outsider tries to move in the gangs will work together and drive them out. Cheers and happy weekend!

That’s all well and good and rational, but it fails to take into account the existence and actions of bad actors intent on war, such as Hitler and Hirohito in WWII.

I think your examples do not make my opinion a failed thought - - those bad actors are possibly an insult to human intelligence. I question someone's intelligence if he or she is drawn to wanting war. (And, yes, I realize some of the 'war-riest' people may have high IQs.)

True, but I was focusing on “should be able to get along.”

Bad actors like these render that impossible.

Accomplishing that is a monumental task. First of all, to live in a perfect world, you would somehow change the way every single person on this planet thinks. You have to get people to care about their fellow humans and build from there. Also, take money out of the equation and get people to believe it's for their own good. Well-said, yes. Good points.

I just sometimes think that if f I can get along with people without drawing war, maybe it's possible.
I'm not patting myself on the back but countless times people in my life over the years have said it's admirable that I can still remain myself and get along with everyone, even if I highly disagree with others.
And I admit -- I care about my fellow humans.  :)

I'll pat you on your back instead. You're a good man, but I don't think you know it yet.

Thank you very much, Zack. I appreciate that.
Yes, I tend to not give myself credit at times.

And my thoughts about war do not diminish at all my admiration and respect for those who have served in the military.
When war happens, or when preserving peace, these people have my respect. Though I wish their service were not needed.
