Were there any high profile democrat speakers at the RNC?

I watched most of the 4 day DNC and noticed that there was quite a few Republican speakers planing on giving their vote to Harris. And I think they will convince a lot of other republicans to vote for Harris. Cheers and happy weekend!

I didn't see any Democrats on the RNC convention stage. If you didn't watch Day 2 of the DNC convention, you might have missed this speech.

I watched pretty much all of the 4 days of the DNC. I think republicans giving their votes to a democrate is rare. So I think it shows how unliked Trump is and that he is going to lose the election bigley. Cheers and happy weekend!

Again..another speech just bashing Trump.  Nothing about the real issues facing America today, she is not supporting any solutions proposed by the left...because there aren't any that Trump didn't propose first.  This post was edited by Art Lover at August 24, 2024 12:18 PM MDT

I think you misunderstood the speech. She is a Republican and is certainly not going to make a speech about Democrat policies. She was talking about why she thinks Trump is not good for our country and speaking as a former MAGA insider.

Policies are important, but I believe that the character of our leader is more important. We should not have to make a choice.

There were four days of speeches, most of them addressing policies and solutions. And no, Harris ' policies are not ALL ones that Trump proposed first. If that were true, it wouldn't matter who we vote for. This post was edited by Jane S at August 24, 2024 1:23 PM MDT

No tax on tips was Trump's first.
The tax cuts and increased child tax credit also Trump idea first too.
And of course now Kamala is going to secure the border as well.....

The only thing she has announced that is hers alone is tax on unrealized income. And increased corporate taxes. And attacking businesses claiming they are price "gaging"

Higher taxes does not encourage job creation. And drives jobs to other countries with lower taxes and less regulations.   Look at our manufacturing industry over the last few decades for confirmation.

My response was about price gouging, which does exist.

    But she said "gaging."
If they are gouging their profit margin would be increasing significantly.  Not their gross but the net.

OMG, she mispronounced a word! More incompetence. Luckily Dems could figure it out.

I would need to see a complete financial statement to determine how much of the gross profits went to executive bonuses, stock buybacks, and other expenses not related to cost of goods sold.

Also, my response was about food manufacturers, not food retailers or other retailers. Only a few companies control our food supply and they are colluding to fix prices.

That is the least of her incompetence.

Gen Mills the Gross margin is just now getting back to precovid margin. And still significantly lower than in years past.  (Gross Margin = Gross Revenue  - Cost of Goods Sold)

Still not enough info. And this is just one company. I did check briefly and saw revenues were down due to declining sales, but gross margin was up. So, there's that.  I am not about to do a complete financial analysis of GM and its competitors just to prove  or disprove a point I never tried to make.

Again, what I posted above was about corporations colluding to fix prices, not about the financial statement of a single corporation.

That's a simplistic answer. But, if it were important to you, you would vote Democrat.

The Biden Administration has been focused on enforcing anti trust laws, including ongoing lawsuits against companies like Google, Amazon, ExxonMobil and many others. They stepped in to prevent mergers that would limit competition. Merger activity went down.

Trump has been more friendly toward mergers, and in fact, some big mergers were announced recently as big corporations are betting on a Trump win.

But, you know all this, because you focus on the issues.

Ron Paul introduced the 'no tax on tips' idea in 2007.

But Paul is not running now. And they all recycle old promises.   Obama ran on many of the old promises I voted for Bill Clinton to pass in 1992.    It is strange for both parties to be using the same ones though.

    Yes, I get it.
But when I saw the statement "no tax on tips was Trump's first," I researched a bit and found out about Paul. That was why I posted (admittedly quickly) the other day.
It benefitted me to find out who was actually the first person, whether or not he was running for president this year. But I get your point about recycled promises, too.

Citizenship is being given at the fastest rate ever to illegal immigrants. They wanted them in here for the votes, at a high cost for every American in the country, leaving the homeless without the same resources.
It wouldn't surprise me if they allow illegals to vote as well, time will tell. The lefties have a plan you see, a true communist agenda, watch and weep if Harris gets elected.
