I've spent over four years hearing a man continually and constantly deny election results. And I watched many of his Republican supporters peacefully invade the Capitol building and then their not getting violent at all after not accepting their/his loss.
I'm sure I just misunderstood all of them.
Yes, sarcasm. I've lost too many dear people in my life this past year and I'm tired at the moment and sad about it all. I admit to being impatient in many aspects of my life currently in many areas, not just politics, And you probably don't deserve my reply here. But, like I've mentioned to you before -- I really do wish I could vote for Atticus Finch and Edith Bunker. I find them much more appealing than many real politicians. :)
Yes, we disagree with the official result of the 2020 election. That has not changed. And yes, there were indeed some Rep who were not peaceful on Jan 6. And there were also those there who were not Republicans involved in the non peaceful actions. This does not excuse the actions of anyone.
Democrat Raskin is already talking about preventing Trump from being certified even if Trump gets the votes. That is an action I truly hope the do not happen because that would be really bad.
Yes, I agree it'd be bad about your reference to Representative Raskin but I read an article that says Raskin's quote is fabricated; the article quotes Raskin as saying he never said that.
I still wish peace to all who are elected and a goal of all working together as a team.
The greatest thing to em is that it will finally be over! Alas, the election won't be the last we hear of/see trump. He's going to be a thorn in the side of this country for a long time to come. Not because he will falsely claim the election was rigged (nad challenge it forever) - whether he wins or not, but because his lies and rhetoric have deeply divided this country and encouraged abject people (like himself) to spread their vileness in open public.
I can't stand watching TV these days. The constant barrage of political ads is stultifying. Same ones over and over again ad nauseum. There is no reason why campaigning should begin so long before the actual election. Billions of dollars, which could be used for bettering America, are wasted on campaigning.
I just voted, the results are sent immediately to the Board of Elections. The only way to cheat is with the mail in ballots or name fraud, or state fraud at a higher level.

I'd say you are just a bit naive. Postal votes can be discarded by the postal unions. Voting machines can flip votes or count them multiple times for starters.
The notorious Stalin misquote that it's who counts the votes that matters has more than a grain of truth.
Well the machine I used today would be hard to do that. After voting, paper receipt was ejected then inserted into another machine, (which remained in it) by a volunteer. Only then was the vote counted. The results were sent immediately to the Board of Elections. Don't see how they could get around that but anything is possible I suppose.
