If tariff wars are like a game of chess is Trump going to get schooled?

Canada is working on a plan to fight and win a tariff war with Trump. And I’m sure Mexico is too. But Tromp doesn't seem to have a plan at all. First he said there would be 100% tariffs on everything – then he said 200% and now he is saying 25% tariffs on everything. Cheers and happy weekend!

    - trump has no idea what a "plan" is (that word isn't in his very limited vocabulary).
    - he has no idea how tariffs work (probably heard the word on TV - to him TV is reality).
    - One cannot "school" the man as he isn't bright (sign on door says "pull", but he pushes and because it wont do what he wants it to do his way, he calls it names).
    - The man lacks wisdom (is foolish) as well as common sense (a gnat has more than he does), and doesn't care how his actions affect the country or its citizens (only himself and his massive ego).

Canada schooled Trump during the NAFTA negotiations plus Trump’s wife developed a bad case of the googaley eyes for Canada’s Prime Minister – so that had to sting. Cheers and happy weekend!

Canada just conformed to Trump's demand so they will not have higher tariff.

Canada agreed to step up it’s effort to stop drugs and illegals from crossing it’s border. It is more of a good neighbor thing – then a conforming to Trump’s demand thing. But it will not bring down the cost of goods in America. Trump figures the only way to do that is with stiff tariffs - even though most experts tell him they won’t. But Trump thinks he knows best so you can bet he will do his tariff thing. Cheers!

Call it whatever you want, but it is what Trump demanded to avoid the 25% tarriff.
I call it checkmate, in your chess game.

OK – then I’ll call it MARCO.
Because when Trump starts barking out his tariff demands - no one is going to say POLLO and play his game.

I actually think that it has sunk into Trump’s head that he can’t win a tariff war. So he is on a new kick – make Canada seem uppity because they figure they are too good to become the 51st state. Cheers!

Tariffs are inflationary. Basic economics. Isn't "cost of living" precisely what the Republican Party campaigned on?

The way I see it, Trump's base wants simplistic answers to complex issues. We'll just have to wait and see how that works out for them.
