musk is a whack-job.  he thinks his money and "intelligence" (and I use that term loosely) makes him better than everyone else.

Sure. I can see it in his demeanor. Total self centered narc craving attention. Right?

    It was not a salute.

He said from my heart to you.
And grabbed his chest (heart) and made a throwing motion.  (Similar to blowing a kiss)

The ADL came out almost immediately and said it wasn't a  nazi salute.

Regardless of its intention, only a complete idiot would fail to realize that it would be interpreted that way - and we know that Musk is intelligent, just lacking a moral compass. He knew what he was doing and didn't care. That's more dangerous than stupidity.

Exactly. He knows what he's doing, and so do far-right extremists. Some people might try and justify the gesture, but behind their mask, we all know what they are too.

    Tell that to the ADL.

    Watch the video with sound.

    (45 sec mark)

I can show you images of Obama, Hillary,  AOC, Warren,  all making the same pose.

There is a video of Macron make the exact same gesture: Heart to you.

What is the difference between them? They do not support Trump.

And then the ADL backtracked, so who are you trying to convince?

The have not backtracked on the My Heart to You gesture.

They have condemned a post of Elon's on X that contained several puns.

You think making jokes about the Holocaust is funny?

"But after Musk’s jokes Thursday, ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt seemed to have enough of it all. In a statement directly addressing Musk, he wrote:

“We’ve said it hundreds of times before and we will say it again: the Holocaust was a singularly evil event, and it is inappropriate and offensive to make light of it ... @elonmusk, the Holocaust is not a joke.”

That is not a back track.  That is old post which he has apologized for referring it as the dumbest thing he has ever posted.

So when did the ADL "backtrack" on Musk making the My Heart to Yours" gesture?

An old post?  It was Thursday - two days ago.  There really isn't any point in trying to make you see what a disgusting thing Musk did.  Anyone with any class would have apologized for his gesture immediately, but that isn't in Musk's nature.

This was the post with puns.

The Thursday post was the one with puns. I have seen it but did not understand most of them. I got the "not NAZI that coming" but none of the others.

(I searched some and it appears the other puns where of some past NAZIs names)

Bad taste.  I don't like it. But he can post what he wants on his platform.  I would remove them on this platform.

But the ADL did not backtrack on the My Heart goes out to you gesture.   They condemn his new post with the puns.   This post was edited by my2cents at January 26, 2025 10:17 AM MST

Elon Musk is a great man in my opinion.  He has done so much for this country and around the word.
A visionary who has made great changes for us all in transportation, housing, free speech, medicine, communication, space travel and AI technology.  I can't think of one person who has done more good for mankind than Elon Musk.

What has Musk done for housing, free speech and medicine?

Musk has designed low cost modular housing, a low cost RV for living, purchased Twitter and established free speech once again, is possibly buying the View and MSNBC which will replace the lefties misinformation outlets. Musk has a video showing what the programming replacing the view would look like. In medicine he has established 'neurolink two enable those who are unable to communicate normally to communicate through thought.

And what has he done to implement that low cost housing?  Surprising that you think only lefties spew misinformation.

As far as eurolink, "Musk has a habit of suggesting big things but providing little detail, notes Ryan Merkley, director of research advocacy at the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine. “This is maybe the biggest example of that” because there’s no information available about the person who received the implant or their medical condition, Merkley points out. “Depending on the patient’s disease or disorder, success can look very different.”

uying up MSNBC and The View only means that he will be able to present HIS point of view on everything.

Musk as seen on X, allows both sides of an issue to speak.   That is how it should be.
He does not have the same type of respect for other users as we do here. (No site does that I know of, we expect more of our users here)
So on the View, he would require they hire at least one actual conservative on the show.  They have not had one since the blonde lady left . The one who fought with Rosie O'DONNELL.

Jamsetji Tata, Bono, Jimmy Carter, Elton John, Bob Geldof, Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, George Soros, Azim Premji, Mackenzie Scott, Michael Bloomberg, Li Ka-shing and Andrew Carnegie, for starters.

Musk has done a lot for renewable energy. Finis. When those kids were trapped in a cave in Thailand, what did Musk do? Nothing but hurl insults at the guy who actually saved them. This post was edited by Slartibartfast at January 26, 2025 7:55 AM MST

Parts of the missions have failed, but not all. It's pretty awe-inspiring watching them live (on TV) and hearing his team giving live commentary on stages of development. His politics maybe 19thC, but his ingenuity is definitely 21stC.
