    Yes. We always served at Christmas. Now that I think about it, I wonder how it came to be part of our tradition. It doesn't seem to fit with our ethnicities.

    I guessed you would, being a Jewish New Yorker. My mother, from Maine, introduced it to us when I was very young. I have eaten it ever since.

    No.  My husband used to eat it right from the can.  They stunk to high heaven. The only thing I did with them was buy them.
