Do you use a top sheet? What's the reason you do or don't?

I recently learned this is a controversial subject.

    I do use a top sheet. And the reason is because my sheets are flannel sheets – and it feels pretty good to be sandwiched between flannel. Cheers!

    I do not.  My mom never used them and when I moved into my own apartment, I just continued along the same path.

    Probably the same reason I always used one. But after a couple older people I know had bad falls after getting tangled up in a top sheet, I re-thought it. Since I use a duvet cover and wash it when I wash the sheets, it seemed superfluous to me. Much easier to make the bed too.

    Sure!  Along with several blankets and several throws (I hate being cold and can't afford heat).  In the summer I only use a top sheet (even at 110+ degrees it helps regulate the heat).

    Only in the summer, if I am hot. 
    Otherwise,  no I use one cover. I do not like layers.

    No, it always ends up bunched up at the bottom end of the bed.  I have a nice warm, soft blanket I use.

    I use a top sheet except for the warmest months.  I rarely have to put a blanket on my bed outside of a couple of weeks of really cool weather.  During that time I love leaving the windows open for those night time 50s.  The blanket I use is a thin open weave cotton blanket.....very light weight.

    I don't. In winter, the duvet cover suffices - just change it weekly like I do the bottom sheet. In summer I like the air to circulate around me - the temperature was still 98F at 2am this morning, after 113 in the daytime yesterday. I don't want anything on me in that.

    Some people think it is unhygienic to go without a top sheet to serve as a protective layer between your body and any additional bed covers.

    Supposedly, Gen Z began the trend of discontinuing the use of top sheets. But answers in this discussion seem to indicate that they aren't the only ones.
