Auditing and removing waste is not tyranny.  It is something both sides used to agree needed done.  Kind of like securing elections.  But it is Trump doing it so many on the left must oppose it now.

Trump could cure cancer and there are some who would still die rather than be cured.

Science, safety and aid are not waste. Tax cuts for the already obscenely wealthy and making threats to Allies is,

This is a small portion of the waste.
    • $1.5 million to “advance diversity equity and inclusion in Serbia’s workplaces and business communities”
$70,000 for production of a “DEI musical” in Ireland
$2.5 million for electric vehicles for Vietnam
$47,000 for a “transgender opera” in Colombia
$32,000 for a “transgender comic book” in Peru
$2 million for sex changes and “LGBT activism” in Guatemala
$6 million to fund tourism in Egypt
Hundreds of thousands of dollars for a non-profit linked to designated terrorist organizations — even AFTER an inspector general launched an investigation
Millions to EcoHealth Alliance — which was involved in research at the Wuhan lab
“Hundreds of thousands of meals that went to al Qaeda-affiliated fighters in Syria”
Funding to print “personalized” contraceptives birth control devices in developing countries
Hundreds of millions of dollars to fund “irrigation canals, farming equipment, and even fertilizer used to support the unprecedented poppy cultivation and heroin production in Afghanistan,” benefiting the Taliban

It is not the US job or responsibility to support the entire world. USAID is for foreign aid.

The US is trillions $$,$$$,$$$,$$$ in debt. We have every right to stop any or all of it.

The Daily Mail, which seems to be the source, requires that I remove my ad blocker in order to see the article.  I'm not doing that.

I didn't click on all of these, but a couple of descriptions for the larger amounts listed are quite misleading based on the linked articles.

But, I notice that the millions spent for Trump and his family to attend the Super Bowl, were not identified as wasted spending, nor was the hundreds of thousands spent to fly over Daytona.

But it's easier to point out the money spent on preventing the spread of HIV in Gaza Province in Mozambique (not the Gaza Strip in Palestine as they claimed) as wasteful than to ask government officials to pay for their own personal excursions.

$50M for condoms is crazy amount in any country. Government gets them for 5 cents.

As I said above, It is not the US job or responsibility to support the entire world. USAID is for foreign aid.

If you do not understand how foreign aid benefits the US, including stopping diseases before they spread, nothing I say will matter to you. But I understand how millions of dollars in security and transportation so that the president can attend a sporting event has little, if any benefit.

Furthermore,  the list you shared is not an official list of waste. It is a number of links to news articles which in the links I checked, do not support their characterization.

This is not an effort to stop wasteful spending, it is a cover-up for tearing down the checks and balances of our government. The Constitution gives the legislative branch the authority to make laws and control spending. The Executive branch is supposed to enforce the laws and spend according to the budget. When the Executive branch usurps the powers of the legislative branch, that is tyranny.

Show me where you complained about Obama golfing and trips to Martha's Vineyard  or Biden's constant stays at the beach etc.  Or it is just another thing that only matters when it is the other party in power.

I never complained about any Dem President having recreational time.  They are in a stressful job and need to have an outlet.

It is an official list from the WH.

Take is up with the courts they just ruled in DOGEs favor.

What a non-argument. I didn't complain about Trump's recreational activities,  so much as point out the lack of benefits compared to foreign aid.

An official list from the White House would normally have an official letterhead or be on an official website,  not be a link to various news stories.

The courts are not done with DOGE, a ruling that the states need to present more evidence to get a restraining order just shows that this particular judge is not partisan.

I stand corrected,  That website publishes items in the public domain, so the links to news articles in the mainstream press fits the format. And the headers for these links such as $6M for tourism in Egypt which links to an article which does not contain the word tourism are all part of the Trump propaganda machine.

I can't believe that you would think that the US spent $50 million in condoms.  Do you realize that there's about $500 MILLION dollars in USAID that will spoil or be useless if it is not delivered?  How is that cost-saving? This post was edited by Spunky at February 19, 2025 10:39 AM MST

The food shipments that were paused through USAID, were released for shipping to their destinations on Feb 10th.  It is not going to spoil.

$50 MILLION DOLLARS WAS NOT SPENT ON SENDING CONDOMS TO GAZA.

"But there’s no evidence that the U.S. had earmarked or spent $50 million for condoms for Gaza. A State Department spokesperson said on X that the freeze stopped $100 million in funding to Gaza which included funding for contraception. But the emergency relief group that, according to news outlets, would have received that aid, told PolitiFact it did not use U.S. funding for condoms."

"There is a U.S. program that provides contraceptives internationally — and it spent $60 million worldwide in one year — but Gaza was not among the recipients, a 2024 U.S. Agency for International Development report said."

    https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2025/jan/30/karoline-leavitt/no-the-us-did-not-spend-50-million-to-fund-condoms/

"$50m would be ONE BILLION condoms.
"What's going is here is NOT a billion condoms for Gaza.
"What's going on is that the bros at DOGE apparently can't read govt spreadsheets."

    VERDICT

No evidence. There is no publicly available evidence of alleged plans for millions of taxpayer dollars to be spent on funding condoms in Gaza."

    https://www.reuters.com/fact-check/no-evidence-us-spent-50-million-condoms-gaza-2025-01-30/

"The White House and State Department didn’t provide evidence the funding it blocked was intended solely for condoms. A State Department spokesperson said that the freeze stopped $100 million in funding to Gaza that included funding for contraception. But there’s no evidence the emergency relief group that would have received that aid would have used it for condoms; a spokesperson for the group said it has not used any U.S. aid so far to procure or distribute condoms."

"Steve Fake, a spokesperson for Anera, told Snopes over email, "No portion of the GHRA includes family planning or condoms."

It is clear, then, that the $50 million was to be used for healthcare services overall, particularly in building health clinics and providing basic care."

The area was wrong not the amount. $50M in condoms  to Gaza province in Mozambique.

Again, gov pays 5cents per condom, does any country need 1B condoms? And do WE need to pay for it?

$50 million was NOT paid for condoms alone and it doesn't matter the area.  No point in arguing this any further.  Unless Trump tells you this is not true, you won't believe it.

I believe what is happening is that they are looking for keywords as they go through the spending. If a project includes a keyword, such as condoms, the entire project is attributed to that item. Obviously, condoms would be part of an aid package to stop the spread of HIV and other STDs, but that aid would include health clinics, education, shipping, distribution,  and more, not just dumping a boatload of condoms and hoping they use them. And the fact that a project to stem the spread of AIDS, turned into a story that we were supplying Hamas with bomb making materials, and MAGA happily believed and amplified a clearly ridiculous claim, is emblematic of what we are up against.

No one is claiming it was not spent on condoms in Gaza, Mozambique.

That claim was when they had the wrong Gaza.

As I said, we do not have to spend our tax money on the condoms or anything else.
Show me where it was not just 1billion condoms.

I'm shocked, shocked, I say.  Let's not even mention the $50,000 that Prince Hegseth wants to have his house painted!  I know two immigrants who will do it for $5,000.  How about all the trips Trump makes between the White House and Mar-A-Lago?  You wanted to be president, now live in the house the people have provided.
