I just watched this and was horrified at the turn this meeting took.  I wouldn't be at all surprised if Trump arranged that meeting for the sole purpose of humiliating Zelenskyy publicly.  Trump is the most despicable person I know and I'm ashamed to have him as the president of this country.  At this rate, we will have no allies should something go awry and you can bet that if Putin decides to attack us, Trump will hand over the keys without a qualm.  With Trump as president, America's exceptionalism is down the drain.

Pretty sure Trump did arrange the meeting for the sole purpose of him and Vance humiliating Zelenskyy publicly (personally I don’t think it worked). I think Trump and Vance showed the world that they never have been and never will be on Ukraine's side. Cheers and happy weekend!

Here is a very good analysis of what happened according to Susan Rice, someone whose opinion I respect a lot. There's a couple of glitches in the video, but it gets past them. She has a pretty dire outlook and I agree with her.

Susan Rice is  very smart woman and knows what she's talking about.  I agree with her outlook that things could get worse for this country security-wise.  It's incomprehensible to me that Republicans don't have the nerve to stand up to Trump and are willing to just hunker down and do whatever he wants.  This is not the America I have known.

My sister lived in Ukraine for a couple years. She is devastated by what's been happening over there. Today she was glad Zelensky stood up for himself and used a saying from Ukraine.  It's better to die on your feet than to live on your knees.

I just hope that Europe can continue to stand behind Ukraine and find the means to help him overcome Russian aggression.

This meeting reminded me of a Cheech and Chong skit about forcing someone to sign the papers. Cheers and happy weekend!

It just sickens me to listen to that "man" (and I use that term loosely)!

    I'm with you.

And, then, for me, at least, if I state my thoughts on the man's public behavior and public words, I'm accused of having Trump Derangement Syndrome. Whatever.  :)

When people throw those words at us, it's because they have no real defense.

It's even more sickening to see how right-wing media is covering it as if it were a big win for Trump. The only winner here is Putin.

I admit I did not watch/listen to entire conversation but what I saw I let irritate me -- Mr.  Trump kept interrupting Mr. Zelensky. Over and over, he kept interrupting Zelensky

Terribly UNpresidential behavior in my opinion. No surprise to me, either.

Zelensky raised the question of why he should trust a cease fire agreament with Putin – because Ukraine had a cease fire agreement with Russia and Russia broke it – came back into the Ukraine and killed people. Trump and Vance didn’t seem to even consider that – they just kept pressuring Zelensky to sign the paper like it or not. Cheers and happy weekend!

I found this encouraging for Ukraine.

European leaders scrambled to stand by Ukraine in the wake of the Trump-Zelenskyy meeting. Among those who assured Zelenskyy of Europe’s support were the heads of the European Commission and European Council head.

The EU’s top diplomat said - “Today, it became clear that the free world needs a new leader,”. Cheers and happy weekend

    Not very presidential at all.

President Zelensky was awful.  How do you expect to end a war if you openly say you do not want a cess fire and bad mouth the person you are supposed to make a deal with.   And arguing with  the country who has given you Billions of dollars and weapons.

He lost his lunch and maybe more.

    That looks way real.
The only thing that could make it better would be a poof of orange makeup above Trump from him getting punched in his orange makeup face.
    Cheers!
