Are you ready for Liberation Day 2025?

On April 2nd Trump will have an announcement about his plan for globule tariffs - which he has been hailing as “Liberation Day”.

I think in the long run Liberation Day is going to hurt Donald J Trump a lot more than it hurts the world. Because it will once and for all take away his tariff threatening power/tactics and that will cut him like a knife.
Cheers and happy weekend!

I hope it does.  his strong-arm tactics are destroying what this country once stood for.

Donald J Trump may have lost Liberation Day” before it even started?

Well Trump was busy calling people names and talking about taking over Greenland – other world leaders gathered to talk about dealing with Trump’s constantly growing tariffs and tariff treats.

Here is one of the ways -  many countries plan to sell off American military equipment within five years and buy from other countries. Also many countries cutting ties with the United States over Trump's affinity for Russia.

So it looks like Trump shot himself in the foot. Cheers!

The only thing Trump is liberating the middle and lower classes from is their money.

I know, we will not be able to export manatee meat and flamethrowers or live monkeys without paying a tariff....whatever will we do?

When, not if, the economy tanks (the Dow is already in the toilet), maybe then you will study some modern history. Tariffs have never worked. Google "Smoot-Hawley", it was responsible for the Great Depression lasting years longer than it should have. Global trade slumped by 66%.

Turns out Liberation day wasn’t so bad for some people – the people in Russia.

Russia is one of the few major Countries that didn’t get hit with Trump’s globule tariffs.

Last week Trump was claiming he was mad at Putin because Putin bad mouthed Zelenskyy - so he might put trade embargoes on Russia. But it looks like they kissed and made up. Cheers and happy weekend!

    Liberation Day Update

Canada and China are now leading the way on retaliation tariffs. What put Canada in the top 2 is a 25 per cent tariff on non- CUSMA compliant vehicle imports. CUSMA is a trade agreement Trump signed during his first term. Cheers!

Tariffs already paused, 12 hours after they took effect.  How does this make sense when yesterday he said the tariffs were permanent, but negotiable? It's starting to look more and more like market manipulation.  This post was edited by Jane S at April 9, 2025 12:12 PM MDT

Yeah he has been saying a lot of things that don’t make sense and or are lies.

Trump/WH said that over 70 countries are lining up to talk about tariffs with Trump – I don’t believe that.
I figure most countries now know that negotiations with Trump means nothing because he will break an agreement in a second.
The world markets want stability and they know they won’t have that with Trump so they will work together and find it without Trump.
It very well could be market manipulation but I think it is all just an egotistical game to Trump and I think it is a game he can’t win. Cheers!

Think about what being powerful enough to manipulate the global markets is doing for his ego. He posted that 'now is a good time to buy', just before he paused the tariffs. Was that a message to his billionaire buddies to scoop up the low price stocks because the market was about to soar?  Trump is so corrupt that I have no doubt that he is profiting personally from this.
