Can you see any flaws in Trump’s new plan?

The US government is offering migrants who are in the country illegally a sum worth $1,000 plus paid travel if they decide to leave the US.

One of the flaws might be an illegal could get in line – collect $1000 and a free plane ticket – leave the US – sneak back in – buy a fake mustache – and get back in line for another $1000 and free plane ticket.

Another flaw might be lack of interest. Someone that walked 100s of miles and crossed rivers of barbed wire to get into the US are not going to take the offer.

The WH has already said that an illegal has signed up and I’m sure that next week they will be claiming that 1000s of illegals have signed up.

Cheers!

I thought this administration vowed to slash the deficit.  So... where is this $1000 coming from? (yeah, I know it's in the new budget)  If all the "illegals" take him upon this offer (just say they do), how much will it cost - UP FRONT?  Plus there's the possibility that what you said MAY happen ("illegals" aren't stupid).  Add this cost to his BD parade, his massive tax cuts for the wealthy, and his massive increase in military spending .......... doesn't that raise the deficit?

Almost every thing Trump does raises the deficit. But what it doesn't do is bring down the cost of living. I bet Trump hasn’t put any thought or time into bringing down the cost of living - like he promised to do on day one. Cheers!

How much does California spend on illegals just on medicaid?  I guarantee it is more than the $1000.00

I'd rather pay $1156 a year to help someone live a better life than whatever it's costing me to pay for Trump's golf outings.  The reason they are able to access those funds is because at least one US citizen is in that family which makes them eligible.  But I'm sure you don't care about feeding a child or educating them because someone is not here legally.  Good thing that didn't apply whenever your ancestors came over here or are you a Native American?

    Nice deflection.

So we agree, illegals cost more than the $1000, Trump is offering them to self deport.

No, I am not agreeing that illegals cost more than $1,000 because all the facets are not factored into the supposed cost.

But the cost are factored in...so are the taxes thar the pay illegally (Identity fraud is also illegal)

If they get any form of government assistance I can guarantee they cost more than $1000 a yr.

Look at California debt, they provide free healthcare to illegals. And are trying to make using fraud to get welfare benefits legal.

They don't advertise free health care - illegal or otherwise.  If you show up at a hosptial they have to treat you irrespective of youir status or youir ability to pay.  But, of course, you're the expert so there's no point in trying to make you see FACTS.

They ALLOW illegals to SIGN UP Medic-Cal.
They are now Billions of dollars in debt because of this.

I stand corrected.  "However, studies have shown that undocumented immigrants use fewer healthcare resources than do non-immigrants."

Medi-Cal is Cali's state version of Medicaid as Medicaid cannot be used for illegals.  So, no federal taxpayer dollars are used for coverage for illegals and that is within states' rights.  If you don't live in California, I'm not sure why you are so incensed about what they do there.

I hate to say it, but it's true that California is $8.5 billion in debt because we provide medical care (MediCal) to undocumented immigrants.  You are correct that the cost is not being paid for by the federal government, rather it's being paid via California taxes.

Although there are many immigrants in these parts, I've never seen an immigrant at the clinic (the only "doctor" MediCal covers).  I see young parents with their babies/young children, a couple of elderly folks (like myself), and a few mentally unstable people.

Money is fungible.   Cal is part of the USA, and we will all pay for it eventually.

Well, the bllue states are paying for the welfare red states, so I wouldn't make such a big deal abouit who's paying for what.  Why should the blue states get back less fromthe government than tney pay in?

They may or may not use less. But I guarantee they use more than $1,000.

It isn't just the $1,000 - factor in the cost of the airfare for the individuals as well as families and the fact that if these folks are working and paying taxes, that money is also gone, and you've got an even bigger loss.

Yes, but it's more important to punish people for wanting a better life than to do anything to better the lives of US citizens.  (According to certain unnamed groups).
