.
Agreed.
It's funny. But when people start acting as IF nothing is? That is when the Sacred turns up and shows you that it will be all that remains, sooner than later.
Was it ever?
I think so.
Then the answer to your question is "no".
dont seem like it
I understand...I may be getting a tad cynical. ;-)
There is an argument to be made that things not being sacred anymore is a GOOD thing.
The problem with the sacred is people are not allowed to question it...because it's sacred. Hence, if the Holy Texts say that subjugating women, selling children into slavery, oppressing homosexuals, and punishing people for eating shellfish is what God wants, the only way to say "Hey, I don't think that's necessary" is to deny the sacred.
In modern times, we can question the accepted wisdom, because it isn't sacred. If someone produces empirical evidence or a compelling moral/legal argument why the accepted wisdom is wrong, then the accepted wisdom changes.
sure. it's a matter of how you personally live your own life, i think.
Nothing was sacred. Looking at procreation alone it is evident.
That sounds like a pretty good assessment of the situation to me.
