There are only certain types of games I like. I have been mostly playing Stardew Valley lately.

I used to play Fable a fair bit, but since the last XBox update the game keeps freezing.

Regularly, but for a limited time.

The Forgotten City is one I thoroughly enjoyed, recently. It sends you back through time, to a Roman city that is without sin, because they believe in a version of the golden rule: if they don't treat others the way they expect to be treated, everyone will be turned into golden statues as punishment. But someone is about to break that rule, and it's up to you to stop them—without breaking it yourself...

That game sounds really intriguing to me.

Maybe another world beckons to me.

I had to think of you as soon as the golden rule came up, of course! Plus, it's a game full of intrigue, discussion, and even some scary stuff (the punishment part). It also recreates the setting with some wonderful details, such as purple carrots (because the orange variety hadn't been cultivated yet) and the early expansion of Christianity, practiced in secret.

I'm not surprised that you show an open mind. I did and do think you'd like it. Not trying to sell the game to anyone (hehe), but here's a link to Steam, which is probably the most trusted storefront for PC games.

    Thanks. :)

Your description alone is worthy of a compelling short story to me. Or a "The Twilight Zone" episode.
The company who sells the game would do well to use your description. I now wonder if the game is based on some previously written work.
    I like the title, too.

The original theme to the TV show:

Thank you! The theme sounds good on vinyl too. :)

As for previous sources for the game, it does include different historical iterations of the golden rule. These stretch back to ancient India (e.g. "why does one hurt others, knowing what it is to be hurt?"), or a peculiar phrase from ancient Egypt: "Now this is the command: Do to the doer to make him do."

It’s been over a decade since I last played.
Coincidentally, it was because of video games that I ended up here. Back in 2005, I was scheduled for a medical procedure that required several days of bed rest once it was completed. I wanted a few different types of ways to occupy my mind, so I prepared novels, nonfiction works, crossword puzzles, trivia, etc. Then I thought about looking into a video game, I sampled several, and found The Sims. I also stumbled on a segue from trivia: Q&A websites.
