I’m proud of my history of growing the finest organic cannabis in all the land. And I’m exceptionally proud that once when I was growing in the bush - I ran away from 2 cops on ATVs . Then when I was far enough away I tauted them by shouting out – I’ll run and run as fast as I can – and you won’t catch me because I’m the cannabis man. Cheers!

Why would you be proud of being straight? It's not a choice, you know. Unless maybe you are suppressing your innate predilections.

I am well pleased with my family and my business.
Pride is a sin. Pride cometh before the fall.

    Bear with me :)

I've said it before on site, and not to boast, but now, as very much an adult, I admit that I am proud that as a six-years-old/seven-years--old young boy, I correctly grasped the true meaning of
Bobbie Gentry's song "Ode to Billie Joe."

In recent years, I had read that Gentry said that large amounts of people over decades have believed there is/are hidden meaning/s (of widely ranging kinds) to the song.

But young little WelbyQuentin had it correct at six.

And WelbyQuentin still loves the song and would, if forced to choose, choose this song as "The Best Song I've Yet to Hear" - - poetically, lyrically, musically - - perfect.

    Coming out takes courage.
    • 48% of bi young people seriously considered attempting suicide in the past year, and 27% attempted suicide.
    • Among gay or lesbian youth, 37% seriously considered suicide and 19% attempted.
    • 82% of transgender individuals have considered killing themselves and 40% have attempted suicide.
    • For comparison, among straight youth, 14% seriously considered suicide and 6% attempted suicide.
When it's not safe for straight people to be straight, when straight people are bullied and ostracized for being straight, when straight and cis people are denied gender-affirming care like breast augmentations, but lifts, etc.) then maybe straight people have a reason to be proud about coming out. Until then, I give credit where credit is due. I am proud to be an ally.

And for the record, the research also shows that it's not being LGBTQ+ that creates the depression and suicidal thoughts - it's being in an intolerant, hateful society that does.
    • Just over 1 in 3 transgender and nonbinary youth found their home to be gender-affirming.
    • Transgender and nonbinary youth who reported gender identity acceptance from adults and peers had significantly lower odds of attempting suicide.

    Yes.

My parents and family were very loving, and accepting, of me -- I had always been the son/sibling they loved. And that never changed after I figured 'me' out. I'm blessed.

EDITL Edited to add - - as I grew up, I always knew my attraction was to guys, I just never knew there was really a word for it. No 'decision' was ever involved. That's what I meant by figuring it out by my teens.

I’m proud that once I wasn’t too proud to not let a Gay woman have a “talk” with some guys that were picking on my son.

She was a Bull Dyke – but she had some long legs and she knew how to use them – like kick someone in the head from 5 feet away with her long legs. She only had to warn the guys and they got the message. Cheers!

In addition to my answer, I am always grateful to those who serve/d militarily. Thank you.
