Hah! I probably  paid more for my parka and winter footwear than what an air conditioner costs.

We get a double whammy here in the Great Lakes region.. Very cold winters...High gas bills. Very hot summers...high electric bills.

Since all that cold weather blows in from the north you should make Canada pay your heating costs.

Sounds like a plan! (I live up north). And I am sure that getting Canada to pay for our heating bills will be as easy as getting Mexico to pay for that wall.

I could be horribly mean and bigoted, and claim they spend it on robes, pointy hats, and flammable crosses...but I wouldn't do that....;-D...

@WW -- Of course rampant bigotry is not just a Southern thing. KKK activity is a significant phenomenon in Indiana. An in-law of mine used to watch "militias" in her rural town in Michigan, Cliven Bundy drew out the crazies in Nevada and nearby states, and so forth.

But the basis of humor is stereotype.

  • Might want to.  Apparently my comment saying they prolly don't have much to save in many southern places because of weak wages and prospects was too "bigoted" a truth even.

Our summer electric bills for air conditioning are like your winter heating bills---extremely high! We divide the cost of all the anticipated bills into 12 payments and pay them through the year.
