What is or has been the absolute worst uniform you've ever had to wear, and why didn't you have a choice in the matter?

(Excludes jail, prison or other detention/incarceration garb.)

    In the early 70's the smart cookies in the Canadian Ministry of Defense decided to make a tri  service uniform.  Everybody wore green. I was in the Navy at the time and it looked stoopid  sailors dressed in green on the ships.

    I agree. This reminds me of my days in the Marine Corps when the US Navy first went to camouflage uniforms for sailors serving aboard ship. Today it's commonplace, but when it was brand new, it left a lot of us scratching our heads.

  • The worst?  Without doubt that would be the Girls School uniform me and several friends wore to gain access to the school of the same name in the town I grew up in (we were 14 in case anyone's thinking bad things).

    I think that answers the other part of the question too - we had to wear them or we'd have been spotted as intruders.
