    Gah. That's horrible.

I have heard of extreme circumstances, where one party had a degenerative disease and wouldn't live more than a couple of years. The couple was in love and wanted to marry before he died. They were young, like 15-17, but I kind of understood that.

I'm in favor of couples waiting until they're established in their careers and have had time to be an adult first.

I wonder if the high rate of divorce has to do with immaturity or incompatibility? After the physical attraction simmers down  if there's nothing else to hang on to marriage can be a dead end. It can also be splendid. Maybe luck has something to do with it too! Thank you for your reply JA and Happy Thursday! :)

Age 30, because the human brain doesn't even stop cooking until approximately age 25, and it's best to know someone for at least 3 or 4 years before deciding whether or not to spend the rest of life together. Impulse, not maturity, guides many a human action at younger ages. (It's one of the reasons that military recruitment focuses on people between the ages of 17-23.)

Life-changing decisions that are made in one's late teens or early twenties can often be fraught with regrets after a while.
