But, my right wing friends say, nahhhh..  He needs the Secretary of Defense's permission first..  I have NO idea where they get this.  Do you??

We've discussed this before, but it's worth discussing again.  Especially since the Democrats are asking Obama to take our missiles OFF High Alert. 

Here's what High Alert means.  The ONLY time we ever expected to fire our nukes, is when the enemy fired his and they're IN THE AIR, headed our way.  The president has only NINE minutes to SHOOT back, or not..  Clearly, that leaves NO TIME to convene a meeting, or search for your Secretary of Defense. 

Even Trump supporters know he is THIN SKINNED..  Doesn't that SCARE you???

  • Not particularly.  The process any capable country uses for actually firing a nuclear warhead is complicated, and it's that way for a reason.  I wouldn't be complacent about it but it's not a primary worry.

    I'm more concerned about his lunatic, 19th century economic policies and what will happen when the right wing loons he courted during the election realise they've been shafted.

    Honestly?  I give the man a year or two.  Then he'll be out.  Impeached, dead or otherwise 'removed'.

  • It's a worry excon, I won't deny.  But I've been watching the man for a while and the more I see, the more I'm convinced someone(s) will be making plans to 'remove' him as soon as possible.

    Firstly Trump isn't thin skinned. He's incredible thick skinned and has gone though a complete sh*t storm of smears to get to this point.

    Even if you do think he's thin skinned, so what? Anyone who would even consider initiating nuclear war is a complete psychopath, not just someone who easily gets butthurt when shown disrespect. Do you think Trump is a full blown psycho?

    Technically nuclear launch is under the command of the president. Though in practice it isn't. If a president ever gave the order without a credible reason, the chain of command would surely stand down and he would be relieved of office for insanity.

    I mean, what would you do if you were second in the chain of command and the president said "I've had it!! They made fun of my comb over AGAIN!!! F*** that f***ing country! Burn them all!! Nuke em!!! Nuke em right now!!!"?

    Would you just calmly say yes sir and initiate the end of the world? Personally I would do WHATEVER was necessary to make sure a stand down happened.

    Liberal fear train has paranoid passengers. 

    Can he? Yes.

    Would he want to? Maybe.

    Will he? Probably not. 

    Why? Because he would get kicked out of office right afterwards. And probably charged with war crimes. And probably get sentenced to death. He KNOWS that. He's a clever guy. He wouldn't want that.

    Listen.He's competed his entire life. Most recently against other republicans. He won. And even more recently against HRC. He won. Now he wants to compete against all of the former presidents in US history. He always wants to be the best. Will he do it? I dunno. But he's going to try. He's going to have a good stab at it. And I even think he's going to try to be a really nice and fair to everyone as prez, also. I think he has a genuine desire to build and do good for the US. Not evil.

    Hopefully he'll hold off until he's impeached (which WILL happen, he managed to wiggle out of the civil fraud suit by throwing a bucket of money at it - he can't do that with the racketeering charge, that's a criminal matter. Being convicted of a class one felony guarantees impeachment.) Will he hold off, or will he he play a game of "my d!ck is bigger than your d!ck with Xi Jinping? There's no need to worry about Russia, Trump is in bed with Putin, but he has a serious hate boner for China.

    Pence is stupid but not as hotheaded as Trump - and he WILL be President within 12 months.
