    The US will fall because they have laws protecting INSANE criminal minds.

    We have to protect the guilty at all costs to protect the innocent.

    That is not the way to go.  Or we will all go soon enough.  Kerplowie.

    Let's blame it on the terrorists.  That will stop us from doing anything about it.

    Well, it depends upon your time frame. Human history suggests that any empire eventually overextends and ends up retrenching into a smaller form of itself.

    But within the context of the next few years/decades, you are SERIOUSLY suggesting that the world's wealthiest nation with the largest economy (unless you count the combined EU as one economy) and BY FAR the world's largest and most sophisticated military force is somehow going to "collapse" when it survived the Civil War, both World Wars, the Great Depression, the multitude of riots and civil unrest throughout its history, and the combination of two dumb endless land wars in Asia plus the Great Recession?

    Of course, in one sense it already has collapsed. The Great American Experiement in Representative Democracy has collapsed into a Plutocracy of the Rich/Corporate, by the Rich/Corporate, for the Rich/Corporate, with a semi-benevolent tyrannical dictator Executive, who can assassinate anyone anytime anywhere on planet Earth because...TERRORISM! And, of course, the American people tolerate this because they hope to be part of the Rich one day, and because the tyranny has, to date, only been imposed (mostly) on Niggers, Spics,  and F***ING HADJIS, who, of course, are not "Real Americans" (or even people, really).

    But as a functioning nation-state? There is essentially only Recency Bias (things seem worse than in the past) to justify the idea that the USA is on the verge of "collapse."

  • The U.S. is not wealthy. You are conflating the people, the state and U.S. based corporations.

    The middle class of the U.S. are relatively wealthy but they are liable for the debts of the state which are colossal. Their over confidence has caused them to also get deep into personal debt. Their wealth is largely an illusion.

    The left tend to view everything as ok because they see the wealth of the people as available to the state if needed.

    Enormous debts of state + Enormous wealth of people = Okay situation;

    Capitalists don't see it that way, and we're the ones who have most of the wealth. My wealth is MINE. I keep it in offshore accounts so the leftist can't get his grubby little fingers on it.

    When the avalanche begins, the real wealth (multinational corporations like Apple) will simply abandon ship, not come to the rescue.

  • Interesting thoughts. So we are too wealthy to collapse is what you're saying. What do you think about the 10% who has the most wealth?

  • I like your thoughts on this. We say we're the wealthiest nation and even people from foreign place want to come here to endulge inthe wealth but how can a country be wealthy when they are in a big debt hole? Is it a cover up or is the U.S. just hold onto a dream?
