They need a crash course in empathy. Getting to know people as people, instead of a preconceived idea, is the only way.

  • Not really.

Tho they are not the norm, racism and prejudiced religious beliefs are inherent beliefs in an individual, and inherent tho they may be, they can be actually changed by whatever reason or whatever circumstance that will bring about change.

While mental illnesses are manifested brought about by a lot of external triggers and internal factors like genetic predisposition, body chemistry, psychological background, and many more, all coming into play, to bring an apparent mental imbalance. In which case, such mental disease can be treated.

It is impossible to be racists against a religion..

religions are not races.. They are a set of beliefs and teachings about God..

This is such a simple thing to understand.. Why don't people understand it???????

  • No, you can't be racist towards a religion. Discriminatory yes, mental illnesses come in all different ranges and is psychological.

Theophobia is the fear of religion, so possibly religions can be discriminatory with other religions and same religions can be against each other. (Protestant and Catholicism) If we go the route then atheist all need to see a shrink because they don't like any religion.

No. They shouldn't because it's not a mental illness.Mental illness is when your mood, thinking and behavior changes from the norm.

People who are fanatical about their OWN  religion should be treated for mental illness.

Once that´s taken care of, the racism and discrimination would lessen dramatically.

All kidding aside it IS a disease.  People who think outside the realm of healthy and happy and positive, ARE sick, indeed.  They have a disease of the heart mind and soul.

How do you point at members of the same HUMAN race and still fear things that are harmless about them?  Over and over throughout history.   Hating someone because they are a different color?  Hating someone for having a different idea on how to worship?  Or not to worship anything if they so choose? Hating someone because they come from a different part of the same planet you reside on and share?

That is just plain caveman mentality.  When we are stuck in one mindset, despite the obvious proofs that we are wrong, that is what causes all the diseases we are faced with today.   Most of these diseases are MENTAL.  Mental problems will end this planet if we don't address how to solve them.

And taking them to court after the fact is not working.

Precautionary measures start in the home and in the schools to educate on subjects that are far more important than reading, writing and arithmetic.   They need to be secondary and follow why we need to place, TRUTH, LOVE, SERVICE TO FELLOW MEN, LOYALTY, INTEGRITY and HONOR above all else.

We need to explain WHY.   Not just force this down someone's throat.  WE NEED TO SAY WHY this is more important than anything else we need to know.

  • No.

The practice of declaring anyone who doesn't have politically correct views to be mentally ill, was very common in the former soviet union. We can't go down that road.

If we allow ANY political speech, however distasteful, to be treated in this way we lose free speech. The practice will spread like cancer until everyone is too terrorized to criticise the government in any way.
