Discussion»Questions»Human Behavior» When you realize you're on the wrong side of an issue you vigorously/publicly defended do you admit you were wrong publicly/stifle it? Why?
There are instances of an appropriate apology. If a law, ordinance, regulation or rule is violated, if a trespass is a moral or ethical violation, a cultural, ethical misunderstandind or miscommunication, then of course you would. If your stand or position has brought about harm, risk or danger to someone or their property, yes you apologize. If the stand you took was an honest difference in philosophy or opinion, then no you shouldn't. Who's to say that you were wrong? Apologies are useful when they are sincere and are an effort to repair relationships. They are abused and cheapened in modern life to the point of being meaningless. Now, that's my opinion offered without apology and it has nothing to do with Trump, or politics or cryptic questions about Trump or politics.
