(Would you believe that I actually looked up popular illnesses as it were and have settled on anything with 'benign' proceeding the condition. Don't be fooled by the benign bit. If some medical sort tells you that that is what it is they are a sadistic wastrel).
Found I had 1st stage lung cancer 15 months ago tumor removed by surgery. If it recurs and I die of lung cancer that would be ok i'd rather that than end up in a vegetable state due to alzhiemer's like mother did..
Feeling fine, never experienced any symptoms of cancer. Tumor was discovered while searching for something else and taken out by surgery alone. Follow up scans showed ok so far. 56 years of smoking estimated 3,500,000 lungfulls of thick toxic smoke; enough to kill ya!
I'm very glad you're doing well. Not an easy habit to break. I've been an ex smoker for over 25 years. I don't know which is worse, cancer or alzheimer's. I have had a front row seat to both. Both terrible diseases in completely different ways. Sending positive thoughts your way.
Good! Thank-you. My thoracic surgeon wants to try and keep me alive anyway. My GP says if I seem to be having symptoms of alzhiemer's he'll have a brain scan done to confirm so begin treatment early. I don't think there is much point living in a vegetable state so maybe if cancer recurs it'll save me from that.

K, I couldn't figure out how to send this to you privately. I have a friend who's mother & aunt both died after battles with Alzheimer's & is hyper vigilant about her diet & exercise. I know the two ladies didn't take care of themselves properly so I am confident my friend won't suffer the same fate. I just found this & sent it to her. I thought you might find this useful too if you like to eat mushrooms. http://www.foxnews.com/health/2017/01/26/eat-more-mushrooms-if-want-to-avoid-dementia.html
That's interesting.. I just began adding button mushrooms to my breakfast omelet about a week ago just for the variety of stuff I put into it. Good to know anyway if I can survive cancer. I am not sure what is going to kill me now.
