  • The fondest memories I have are with my father while he was teaching me to hunt and shoot. I especially enjoyed beating him at the shooting range. Ahh. The student surpasses the master, lol! My mom would join us sometimes which made it even better, but it mostly just us two. I was kind of a daddy's girl. :)

When my older brother left home to go to college.

Unfortunately, it was short lived.  He flunked out.

  • "Free movies" ... my Mother always worked in movie theaters,
one place or another, so us kids got to watch all the movies that came to town (for free).

  • I can barely remember going to the drive.in movies.
I don't remember what we watched, I think some slasher movie.
I remember it being just awesome!.

  • Drive-in theaters in Arizona were the best!  Because the weather was always warm, the speakers were in the ground and you could, and most people did, sit outside on the hood or fenders of their car to watch the movie. It was neat.

  • Putting a Whoopee cushion on the teachers chair! Many times. Many trips to see the Principle but it was worth it. Yeah, I was a teacher's nightmare!

My brother went to a boarding school which was hell for him but my fondest memories were the trip to and from school to drop him off or pick him up.  I liked the trips to pick him up better because I was so happy he was coming home.

My favorite part of the trip was stopping at a restaurant that brings the food to your table on a model train.

  • Going camping and hiking with my dad. Catching fish and eating them an hour later. Eating breakfast burned over an open fire and my dad catching hell from my mom for ruining her best skillet.

There are too many to mention just one, so collectively the sense of freedom and being carefree. I miss that the most.
