That's surely one of the very best songs to come out in the last more-than-several years. I like the music video, too. Gotye's entire album is really good, the one with that song on it. I like best this original form of the song. I've heard some remixes that add all sort of electronic extra rhythms and that distracts from the song to me. :)
You're welcome, SapphicHeart! Wow! I'm humbled in a good way that you enjoy finding music I like. You certainly picked one of my very favorites here! Excellent song! I remember the very first time I heard the song on the radio and I thought "What is this? This is completely different than any song on the radio!" It's still true any time I still hear it by chance on the radio. There's simply no song like it. Except when, like I said earlier, they ruin the song by adding heavy electronic drumbeats and rhythms, etc in mixes and make it sound like other songs with heavy beats. And they seem to play those versions now more than this original.
The original here you posted is indeed beautiful, like you said. And the light instrumentation and that xylophone-thing make the song perfect to me. :)
