  • Man in the wild is known as homo sapiens. Domesticated man is homo sap. A married man had better be domesticated and our wives are tasked with teaching us to cut the grass, clean the gutters, weed the garden, make the repairs and so on.

  • Homo sap, very clever. The married men being in servitude .. do you really believe that or is it for comic effect. Sometimes I can't tell.

  • I've been married for 57 years to a woman who makes me very happy, Lucia. Sometimes my sense of hunour gets lost in the words but if in doubt always assume that I'm joking. Somebody once said that when I try to be serious it's as unnatural as a dog walking on its hind legs.

  • Would you believe Australian spelling?

I've been having major problems with my sight for about six weeks and my next appointment isn't till April so I don't see all my typos. It's actually quite a problem. Mind you, when the sight is normal I still miss more than my share. I don't know whether the problem is with my arthritic fingers or my geriatric brain. :(
