Anyone ever taken benzonatate for bronchitis??

It is supposed to help suppress and numb bronchial tubes but the 100 mg is not doing ANY thing... :/ (one capsule)... Has anyone taken two (200mg)? I read online it is ok to take two, but no more, at one dose. Anyone with experience with this drug ? All on call docs have gone home.. I just figured I check here as well

  • It is probably ill advised to seek medical advice on a social web site.

  • Benzonatate or tessalon, is used for the cough related to bronchitis. Usual dosing of this medication is 100 - 200mg three times a day. Take the medication as it's prescribed...as it may be dosed according to your kidney and liver function. Call your doctor's office as they should have an after hours answering service that can page your doctor. You can also speak to your pharmacist.
