For a while I was saving egg shells and coffee grounds because ... (mumble mumble) something on the internet about garden soil. Finally I said to my self "Look, give it up. You haven't even tried to grow a garden for six years." So I through it all out.
I planted a garden just because I was bored. Things would sprout and grow an inch or so, and then it looked like something had eaten them. It took me three freaking years to figure out that my neighbor had chickens and they were eating my garden!
I do that too. I don't try to look up old friends because I figure they have grown into somebody else and we might not even recognize each other and then I wouldn't even have my cherished memories any more.
I save all kinds of things I probably shouldn't... among the weirdest things that I shouldn't save but LIKE to are.... vinyl/LP records, CDs, my children's old school work/their school planners, old paperwork* and I used to save cat's whiskers when they fell out!
Talking of which .. re the paperwork - has anyone found a good solution for keeping but not keeping old paperwork? My son said he was going to scan all his.. would that work? I have my doubts as I did scan some and the programme used now no longer exists so I can't access it..hmm
I put all my best stuff on DVDs and now the drive that wrote them won't read them. Second time this has happened. I'm thinking maybe I should use thumb drives, but they are so easy to lose and impossible to write any identification on the outside.
I like to Save The (obsolete) Words...so I do a lot of widdendreaming, frecking, and brabbling, for example...not to mention perissology and quagswagging!
Also, stickers! Pretty, flowers, trucks, birds, airplanes...stars, hearts...and then I put 'em on un-birthday cards...oh, isn't life sweet...
('kay, there's two things for you, your request...)
