I am a very tolerant soul, variety is to be welcomed. The only thing I can't tolerate is Trump! What can't you tolerate?

Ok I can't tolerate child abuse, animal abuse and abuse of women.. .i get kinda twitchy at environmental destruction too... but apart from that people come in all shapes and sizes and I love that we are all different and that we can all have different perspectives..

SO what can't you tolerate?

Besides the basics of any abuse, misogyny, bigotry, homophobia and racism there's only one thing... having my integrity questioned and/or belittled. Isn't that much, no?

  • Lack of fair-play.  When something someone says or does that I get worked up about it's most likely I sense a lack of something being applied fairly to all involved.

  • Sorta,   more a sense or propriety and sporting that becomes a guide for fairplay.  You can't deny Birts like a well played sneak though.

That's why I don't quite get why baseball never gained any popularity there.   I get cricket is y'alls bat and ball game but still. The game has a lot of elements about proper sporting fairness but getting away with some trickery.

  • Brits have a history and rep of supporting the underdog.. so in sport we will often support the one who is least likely to win.. if there are two tennis players and one has one leg.. we would go for the one legged one... it's a kinda equality/fairness thing but inverse I guess?   the sneak thing is the grudging respect for the underdog again imo.. he clearly needed or felt he needed to sneak cos compete... we DON'T like cheats tho..

re trickery too.. we are a bit rebellious... and eccentric.. so we like people who dare to be differrent . who find ways to buck the system just a little

I think propriety is based on fairplay often.. like I have this bug bear.. only a tiny one.. I wish people would stick to the left as they used to.. it was known.. everyone did it....now they don't and it annoys me.. cos people get in the way of each other.. now you could say that it's a sense of propriety but it is also about fairness.. as that way everyone gets to move up and down smoothly... it's fair.. everyone understands the rule..

  • Hmmm I hate unfairness too.  Also abuse of any kind.  I agree with you about our sense of fair play and may I ask you a questions since we're both from that sceptered isle?  You don't have to answer but I am not a citizen, just paid $400 to renew my green card, are you a US citizen now?

  • No never have been and unlikely to be a citizen.. Love the US, have many friends there.. have visited.. could buy a house with loads of land for less than half the sale price of my current humble home..  but US, is, (perhaps rightly) very fussy about who they let in so I have no real skills to offer - so unlikely to become a citizen anytime soon.

I can't tolerate corndogs.  Every time we had them for lunch at school dad had to come get me shortly after lunch to take me home.  The teacher always had a mess to wipe off my desk on days they had corndogs.

    Sorry about that, Corndog!
