Helping people costs money. Governments have limited amounts of money and are therefore limited in how much they can help people. If society is made rich, few people will need help and many people will be able to provide help. If society is made poor, everyone is going to need help and there won't be enough people to provide it.
If we continue as we are, interest payments on the national debt will take up a greater and greater proportion of the budget leaving less and less money to help people. Eventually basic services will break down, welfare checks will stop going out, the cities will burn, and people will starve.
Anyone who cares about people has to care about money. It's not generous to be fiscally reckless. It is condemning a future generation to slavery and death.
