Thank you for your reply Ozgirl and Happy Sunday. I saw the movie years ago. I believe Greer Garson played the role! Very good movie! :)

  • I don't have favourites. Everything's relative.

You don't. Not in any field? No favorite books or movies or actors or foods or music or people or vacation spots or memories or teachers or jobs or games or clothes or pets or or or or or or or or or?  I have never heard anyone say that Lucia. "I don't have favorites". Never!  Why? Thank you for your reply and Happy Sunday.

  • I just don't. I always shy away from the 'what is your favourite' sort of questions. I think that I would have to know a lot more about everything to even begin to say that one thing is a definitive favourite.
    Am I odd? Maybe. :)

I've noticed you know a lot about a lot of things.  The fact that you don't feel comfortable answering those sorts of questions isn't odd at all. :-)

Rosie, I just found the other thread.  Sorry I didn't see it yesterday.  Although I suspect it, I am not at all sure Whistle6 is a man.  NiceJugs also responded to your question around the same time as you posted this.

There are so many scientists that leave me in awe.  I would say one of my favorites was Caroline Herschel. She was a brilliant astronomer who was born in the mid-18th century (lived into the first half of the 19th century). She was the first woman to discover a comet.  During her lifetime, she discovered 8 of them, along with new nebulae and star clusters.  She was the first woman to have her worked published by the Royal Society, the first British woman to get paid for her scientific work, and she received a gold medal from the Royal Astronomical Society.
