Depends .. at work that can be down right dangerous .. i have no problem saying i don't have a clue what you're talking about to people ... Most are only too happy to explain things .. those who aren't generally aren't worth knowing ... Knowledge is the hand you offer down to people to help them climb ... Not something you beat them over the head with .. now lol what you've done ... You have put me in a philosophical mood!
Veena, I've been married to the same woman for more than half a century. That didn't happen by pretending to know things I don't. It's very largely the result of pretending not to know things that I DO.
Oh, was it today your mother was visiting? Sorry I forgot. Oh, you said we couldn't afford the new computer? Sorry, I thought you wanted it. Oh, you asked me to get off the Internet and cut the grass? Three times? Sorry, I was talking to Veena and didn't hear you. (She types very loudly.)
I used to have to do that with the crazy people on the bus back in he day. If you didn't, then you faced a long and confusing explanation with lots of wild hand gestures and yelling. It was best to just nod in agreement and pretend you knew about the subspace clockwork elves and bubblegum dwarves.
