AnswerMug Challenges: other than north, south, east, west or any words derived from them, what are some directional place names?

Place names = cities, states, provinces, municipalities, counties, countries, etc. 


Exclude: north, south, east, west, northern, southern, eastern, western, northerly, southerly, easterly, westerly, etc.

Example: Upper Volta; Left Bank.

    Essesx means East Saxony, home of the East Saxons in England. There's also a Wessex (West Saxons), and a Sussex (South Saxons). From the Anglo-Saxon period originally. Still known as Essex today. There's also a Norfolk and Suffolk (North and South).
