It's kinda sad. Trump keeps going back to election day November 8 and holding campaign-style rallies. Back to the past. Why?

My guess? He is unable to let go of campaign mode and focus on governing. His successes are in the past so he goes back regularly for sustenance. Those times were so easy for him. He thought it would always be that way. He controlled everything in his old life. His present life has shown him he really controls nothing. He works in concert WITH two other branches of government. He does NOT control them. He isn't used to that. It takes adjustment and acceptance. Can he adjust after so many years of calling ALL THE SHOTS? As  prez he will NEVER do that again. Never. Can he live with that? Meanwhile his supporters joyfully and joyously give him what he longs for...acceptance/approval/respect/adoration. He isn't getting that these days and he cannot survive without it. Apparently. Thus the campaign rallies will continue throughout his prez days .Isn't it sad for a grown man to have to resort to that to just make it through his days? When you are grown you are supposed to put aside "childish" things. Some find it harder to do than others.

    Remember cartoonist  Gary Trudeau? Did you know about him in your country? Anyway he used to draw a cartoon strip and represent certain pols in particular ways. One of them he represented as a feather. Honestly I don't remember which pol it was supposed to represent. The cartoon strip was called "Doonesbury". I wonder how Gary Trudeau would represent Trump? How do you represent lack of  substance? A blank strip? Thank you for your reply Addb.

    It's a way to circumvent the dishonest media and talk directly to the people. He uses twitter in the same way. 

    By having a rally, the media has to cover what he says and can't get away with editing it out of context because everyone else also has the footage. It's a way to set the narrative and undermine mainstream media bias.

    Most politicians couldn't do this if they wanted to, because hardly anyone would turn up. You're just burthurt that he has the popular following to do this.

    Thank you for your informative reply TZ. Trumps keeps running back to his successes which are mostly in  the past. There are so few today. He fared much better as a prez CANDIDATE than he does at governing. He admitted he thought being Prez would be easy. He needs adulation/adoration 24/7 and he can only count on rally goers to give him that. Everyone else (including the majority of Americans) take potshots at him. So I understand he keeps going  back to the same well that slaked his thirst during the campaign HE NEEDS them to survive.
