Trump wants very much to broker mid-east Peace. Says "it may not be as difficult as some think it is". Do you agree or dis? Why?

Of course Trump thought  being prez would be "easy". Getting Trumpcare passed would be "easy". His health plan would be much better and much cheaper. Easy.  Is this another one of his misguided ill-thought-out baseless pronouncements or is he on to something? Decades of strife can be wiped out. The problem of Jerusalem/settlements etceteratcetera etcetera will be resolved in a heartbeat. Easy peasy breezy. So what does Trump know and what does he bring to the table that many others couldn't, wouldn't, didn't?

    I thought a pursuit for peace should be a positive thing. Why look for negatives and failures?

    The Arabs and Jews have been at war for 5000 years, it's fratricidal (all of them claim descent from Abraham - the Hebrews through Isaac, the Arabs through Ishmael). That kind of thing is not something you can clear up in an afternoon over tea and biscuits.

    I doubt that Trump is that gentile. He'd eat lots of "beautiful chocolate cake". He isn't fat for nothing. Everything is easy to him until he fails at it and then says "no one knew how complicated it was". A lie of course. He is the only who doesn't know these things. We may never truly understand why. Clueless/obtuse comes to mind. But I don't really KNOW!  Thank you for your reply Sbf and Happy Thursday! :)

    Yeah, you're right. ANYONE who either thinks about or acts toward Mideast peace is all bad, all wrong, all evil. It's best to continue the status quo there.

    Not sure I understand Randy? Subtle language differences I think...   But just to reassure you.. I never said that anyone trying was a bad thing.. people are trying, lots and lots of them, over many years.. And while Trump could maybe have a shot too... we do have to remember he isn't exactly erm.... reliable or tactful when it comes to diplomatic relations... he's so far pissed almost every country he's spoken too off.. SO I think my concern would be... that he could well make it worse.. and worse of all he could get you involved in another war.. and... we'd be likely to follow...
