The "you" in the question refers to the person who answers. You, for example. Do you have children, is it apparent to others that you have children? Also, having children around doesn't necessarily mean that the adult is their parent.
Given that there are four people who call me "Dad", it's fairly obvious (My kids' partners also address me by that title). There's also a little girl who calls me "Grumpy" (my daughter's fiancé has a six-year-old daughter by a previous relationship) and a baby boy who will probably also address me that way when he starts to say anything coherent. I'm a grandparent as well.
