Hello Randy:
My friend E spent 20 years in the Navy. He was CPO in the Intelligence Division aboard ship.

No..
Not even for a visit.
No, and I don't plan on it.
20 years Navy. It's in my profile.
20 years US Navy. 69-90. I guess we are shipmates.
Thanks shipmate. 20 years for me.
yes
Not me but my husband has.
No. I never considered it but my father-in-law is a firm believer that everyone should have to graduate high school and until then, there is no driver license and no legal possession or consumption of alcohol. When graduate from high school everyone also goes into the military for a mandatory two-year minimum term of service. It's hard to imagine kids being in such bad physical condition that they couldn't qualify for military duty, but in that case the military will get you qualified in a boot-camp setting where one would stay until physically fit to BEGIN his or her two-year service. Individuals could then stay longer voluntarily. He's a Navy man. Just imagine if every incoming college freshman had two-years military service behind them. It would be a different experience.
Were you in the Canadian Navy, Element?
Yes the U.S. Army and proud of it.
Hi Thriftymaid!
I rather like this idea. I don't know how successful I'd be -- I have a HUGE startle reaction to any sudden loud noises or sudden movement, ha!
But two of my favorite people in my life both were directly in the military and I admire them greatly. I have a feeling they were both great guys regardless of the military but I'm sure the military impacted them. Both of them are very funny, open with me, accepting, strong (both physically, emotionally, intellectually) -- I can't say enough about them. So I'll stop talking.
:)
